Why slam your foot in it and argue with the creep.....
Seriously!
This is what showed up after annoying me with numerous phone calls first...when I stopped answering the phone..... he showed up at the door!
Only I didn't see the wings/bow & arrow or cigar or nudity but the creep factor was still there!
This is a well known slime ball that hangs out at the party houses next door looking for sexual action! He had a wonderful girlfriend, had children with her, then promptly slept with anything that would let him. She finally wised up and kicked him out, only to have him end up with someone my age [he's in his early 30s] but that doesn't stop him!
Want to know his "come-on-line" to me?
He had dreamt about me and in his dream I was to show him the true meaning of life...?
My kids think I should feel honored....
After all this gives me "Cougar" status......;}
SORRY..............................I PASS!
Why do I get all the duds?
Hope your Valentine's Day turned out better than mine did!

Well for at least a little while...work has slowly started
All of the old sayings held true for long weekends...especially this weekend...
"Wait 5 minutes and the weather will change"
It did!
Many times!
We went from "oh my god it's SO FRIGGIN' HOT OUT HERE... and if you smile at me one more time, cause you like it, I'm gonna hit yah", type of weather
to..."what the hell it's cold/rainy enough to turn the heat back on...
to it's SNOWING!
?...that leaves only June and July that I haven't seen it snow....
I'm so happy that I wasn't away camping like most of the
AND the town was SO QUIET!!!!
The town kids like this weekend to do some "partying at the lake" so I enjoyed that part of this labor day weekend!
My plans were to plant sweat peas in the front under the awning and sunflowers along the side of the garage.
Maybe kill some ants along the way...
Sounds easy...it wasn't...as usual!
Both had to be prepped...
Under the awning I had made a walkway [2009]out of re-cycled bricks salvaged from the pile left in the back yard. The old woman that previously owned the place had placed these old bricks along the length of the garage and fence at the other side. So I had made the pattern the same...only it was too narrow and hadn't quite finished it.
The plan was to remove the bricks from the side of the garage and use them to expand the walkway...
Another thing that annoyed me was how narrow the walk was up to the door. The crumbling concrete slope is unfix able due to the pine tree next door [the soil is too acidic and eats away at the concrete] and is a hazard so maybe some added width on the other side?
The 2 day torrential rain did help soften up the weed bed and I was able to sink the bricks into the muck...did I mention I love playing in the mud...;}
I must have been great entertainment for the neighbors across the street...this chubby old lady putting something on the ground then jumping on it or trying to balance on one leg...;}
DIDN'T manage to get the seeds into the ground yet.....ran out of steam!
Did I mention ants?
The ants have started marching in one by one lately...
I think I live on an ant hill!
THEY! ARE! EVERYWHERE!
One of the reasons on the walkways are to stir up the colony the lives around my front entrance. I've put out bait traps but they give me no visual satisfaction. But BillyRoo found these little beauties that causes me great joy....
Sorry you bug lovers...but this way is more humane on the birds who might catch the ones that carry the poison bait back to the hill...so see I'm still thinking on some ways to not harm birds.
So I managed to do some labor on labor day
Got a sore back
No seeds in the ground.....
Maybe next weekend....
Oh...I managed to get some garage sale items too...
Hope you enjoyed your time off.....;)

It's Valentine's week and you all know how I love to decorate...;)
This how I begin my morning....
It does look different in the daylight...
Still busy changing it around...
Decorating like this, is how I get my ideas for grads and wedding decor. What looks busy and what needs to busy up...
I do have a Paranormal Symposium in September that PoD and I are now involved with, to decorate for. I firmly believe in atmosphere helps sell an idea...
I'm kind of leaning towards a Mardi Gras sort of feel...flashy carnival colors. Most skeptics have this visual of the Gypsy Fortune Tellers [this rankles some psychics as they hate being steriotyped that way] but if it helps sell their trade, then why not capitalize on it?
Haven't done much on the way of Mardi Gras decor...used mostly large feathered masks [got for 25 cents each on off sales] and lots of beads....
Will keep the photos coming as it has changed since these shots...it was too busy even for me...;)
If blogger will let me......that is?

Seeing tooooooooooooo many creepy shows like that, made that thought toooooooo hard to handle...;)
Try not to think about THAT as one kept moving through that creepy stuff...!
Happily it turned out not to be true!
We did finally get to see some great scenery and even an amusing sign.
The best was the sight of the QuAppelle Valley and its lakes. This photo was taken from their web site.
Our first point of interest was finding the place we were staying at...
The other point of interest was this sunken yard...
It looks like they removed the dirt, as the places around them were street level, like their house was. The thing against it for me was the fact of no privacy. People walking by could look in...like we did. Another thought was flooding? Other than those things, it did look kind neat seeing it in the middle of town.
Another unusal sight was an unusual looking car...
We finally went to see where the symposium was being held.
It was on the backside of the inn and no public access through it. One had to go outside and around to the back in order to get in.
Calling Lakes did a wonderful job of setting it up. It takes lots of work to put one of those things together and their group is pretty tiny. We had offered our help but they wanted to do it themselves and that was okay too.
The inn had kept that room decorated [wedding] so it made it look great [in my books...I LOVE lights] they even got to use the head table on a small stage area for the special guests and authors to sign their stuff. The main center floor held the merchandise booths and the outer areas hosted the booths for the psychics, mediums, etc.
My only complaint was the lack of total privacy while in the booths. Some people can get pretty upset [me] when doing these session. So, I wanted more privacy. I ended up not going to any of them for that reason.
With time on our hands PoD and I checked out the bars in the inn. We found that it was a rough area of town and hanging out at the bar might be crazy on the weekend with reports of fights, rapes...etc. Of course we found this out after we had checked them out. They did look good during the daylight as I even tried a hard drink. All who know me know I can't drink because of the Diabetes but do manage to have a lite beer once a year.
I had been craving a Caesar!
The first Caesar tasted crappy and I drank maybe half of it. We tried another place and I tried another Caesar. It tasted a bit better but didn't go down well so I didn't finish it either. So I maybe had a full drink. We did meet the paranormal group later for a drink and met some mediums. I think I managed to have a half a beer then.
We made it a short evening as we were tired from the drive and they were tired from the set-up, but we all promised to get together and party the next night.
Too tired to even shower...we hit the sack.
The next morning I was up early [4:00]...not feeling to good and decided to relax with a long soak in the tub. In anticipation of this soak I had brought along bath salts and bubbles for this long awaited event.
Only to find......THERE WAS NO HOT WATER!!!!
WTF!!!
I was some kind of mad person at that point!
Feeling crappy didn't help either!
Sugars were fine, so I figured it had to be because of the alcohol...the symptoms were the same. So I took a gravol and went back to bed.
I couldn't sleep!
I usually spend those early morning hours exploring the town on foot but I didn't feel safe after hearing about the craziness around this place. Besides I was still not feeling that good.
Eventually PoD did get up and wasn't too happy hearing about the NO HOT WATER situation.
How would you like to start the day with a cold sponge bath!
When asked about the NO HOT WATER we heard that their hot water tank was pooched...
Was prosmised that it would be seen to ASAP.
Needing breakfast, we tried to go into the inn's restaurant, only to find it CLOSED...permanently!
One of the reasons we booked this place was that it had a restaurant!
The bar was operational but offered up no meals!
We now had to drive around to find a place in a hurry as the symposium opened up at 9:00 and we didn't want to miss a thing.
Food out of the way we rushed back and got there just in time of the opening.
Here's what it looked like...
Also being offered were presentations on these topics: out of body experiences, remote viewing, quantum physics, cattle mutilations slide show, hauntings, channeling, hypnosis, group session on past life regression, Monroe Institute Teachings, crystal therapy, palmistry and astrology. There was a charge of toonie to sit in on a session.
These sessions were spread out over the two day period and we only had to wait for each one's time. The only thing that was of no interest to me was the slide show on the cattle mutilation but it tweeked PoD's interest. It was the first on the agenda so PoD stayed to watch the show and I went to lay down.
Before that, we got to meet Jo-Anne Christensen. PoD bought her book and got it signed. It was nice talking with her as there wasn't a line-up yet and she could spare the time. In her book she does a write-up on the paranoraml hunters and has featured both our friends the Sask Ghost Hunters Society and Calling Lakes Paranormal Investigators in it.
It is a MUST READ!
After my 4 hours nap, I felt much better and well rested. I wanted to have a shower but there still wasn't any hot water!
While I was out PoD was making herself busy doing what ever the hell that she did? She said wasn't too happy with the cattle mutilation slide show and his presentation. She said that this is one guy you don't want to pay to do his presentation...he just ran the slides, offered no commentation on the photos or would take questions.
PoD actually had to wake me up and would have left me sleep, only the Sask Ghost Hunters Society had arrived and wanted to see me. I went down to find that Miles and Chad had climbed up to the top of the hill [not the one with the flag] across the highway from the inn. Chad had told Miles about the old cementery up there and that he had to see it. Personally I would have drove there to see it rather than climb to it, like they did, but then they are much younger than me and in better shape...;)
We had a good chat while standing in the parking lot. They hadn't planned on staying and had only traveled there to meet JoAnne in person. Saying goodbye they left.
PoD and I now had nothing to do.
We did our touring...
I had lost interest in attending any of the presentators...
PoD was tired...
It was supper time, we had made plans to meet up with the Callin Lakes group and a few of the new people later for a few drinks...
We ate...
Had more time on our hands...
PoD was tired...
I wasn't...
She slept...
STILL NO HOT WATER!
I read...
I fell asleep...
Woke-up...woke up PoD...
She didn't want to...
We cancelled...
Next morning...
STILL NO HOT WATER!!!!!
NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!
NO soaks in the tub!
NO hot showers!
NO close restaurant to go have early morning coffee!
We had planned to stay another day but we had, had it!
So it was a pissed off QoH who did the check out!
Lets say there was some hot tempers, mine and the check out broad!
Lately I have notice [in our town too] that a lot of the inns/motels/hotels are now owned/runned by people who don't speak very good english. They generally have english speaking staff that do the talking them for them and I AM OKAY WITH THAT. This was no different here.
I was looking for finacial compensation for having to live with NO HOT WATER for the entire stay. I was ticked that we were ending our stay due to the inconvience of not being clean!
The snippy little clerk told me that I had already got a discount due to the symposium and that I should be happy with that! Well I told her that it was
a dicount with HOT WATER INCLUDED and that I had paid for the accessability to it! We bickered for quite a bit and she got madder...you figure the place was HERS and it was coming out of her pocket?
She then finally told me that I would have to talk to the owner.
I said "fine, will she be able to understand me"?
The annoying clerk took it the wrong way...saying that it was a prejudical remark...
The whole time we had done business with this clerk upon arriving not once did the owner speak. When spoken to by the staff they just motioned with their hands...
So it was more an observance than a bad remark!
I AM NOT A PREJUDICE PERSON! I lived with prejudism against my family all my growing up years, so I would NEVER IMPLY IT EITHER!
I guess this girl drags the "prejudice" topic when things go bad for her.
I did talk to the owner and she just nodded and handed me 10.00 [should have been 20.00]!
Shaking my head in disbelief I grabbed and left telling them they had lost my business if we come back next year!
It wasn't a great win...but a winanyways!
The trip home wasn't eventful...
Happily NO FOG either...
One on the first things I did when I got home was have a HOT shower!
Next year the group wants us to help out...they really did need it after all!

Just for PoD [cause she needs a hug right now...]

There's many ways to say how I feel about this day but words never can fully express...

What's in my heart...

Makes me smile [even though it's a bit religious for me]...:)

What I'd like to do [if only I drank]...

After all that celebrating don't do this...

I don't know if I'm Irish or not but...

FROM ME & CREEPY HOLLOW....
HAVE A GREAT DAY!
Hmmm...do I see a bunny over there...?

HAPPY EASTERI guess it was time to update the old blog or those of you out there, will think I went the way of the others. Seems more and more are falling by the wayside. I may not blog very often and might seem boring to those who do check in, but I can't see me ever stopping....but my Alzheimer's might think differently?
The best thing I like about easter is the chocolate [that's a word that diabetic people shouldn't utter] and hot cross buns. Too bad sweets help make a person feel better...at least they do to me.
I miss the fun I used to have with my kids at this time of year and how we used to color eggs. It was a messy job but fun to watch how creative they could be. My most favorite job was hiding the treats. Rule was...``those that were not found belonged to the Easter Bunny. As the kids got older the treats became harder and harder to find ;)
My son was supposed to have this weekend off but hasn`t shown up as yet and I fear that he might have had to work. Will be calling him later to see whats up. Normally my daughter has easter dinner at her place but seeing as I have borrowed 4 of her chairs for our play her Dad decided to host it at his. Just as long as I don`t have to do it I don`t care who does it.
Monday we`re supposed to have a play practice then pack up the stuff to travel northward to the festival. I want to make sure that all is packed properly so that all of my hard work doesn`t go to waste...by haste!
I hate the fact that I still have to attend practice just because some people couldn`t get their crap together! Being stage manager and prompter has been the most challenging ever! Hopefully the bad dress rehearsal has shaken some of them up and made them get serious! I have never spent soooo much time running back and forth trying to prompt all that need it. I even made up cue boards so that they would know when they had to go on and what they must do, but do you think that anyone uses them...no! I have been very ``anal retentive`` in my job and I guess that I shouldn`t expect that of others...but I do!
Oh well....Tuesday, I plan on trying to ignore all that`s bugging me and think only of the time spent away from my depressing situation at work. The lack of scenery on the way up there should help.
On a lighter note: All of you out there have a special Happy Easter and hope the bunny drops lots off to you!
Here`s a cute poem that I came across and thought I send it out to you...

TO USI met with the kids yesterday to give JD his present just in case I didn't get to his place to visit today. So have a happy birthday JD! I couldn't find anything on his heros...the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"...but maybe this will do!
For me I'm happy to see another birthday come...I don't dread my age like some do! I'm happy just to be still alive! My son woke me up this morning [7:30 am...6:30 his time] to wish me a happy birthday and was amazed that I had slept in! He figured that I would be at work already...he knows that I seldom take time off. He has to work today but doesn't mind as it is a holiday and will be paid extra. "Traveling Dude" contacted me also and we wished each other well....he reminded me that everyday to him is a holiday [he's retired]! I wish!
Not only is this day our birthday... it's also a holiday called "Family Day". This is a winter-break holiday and everyone gets the day off from work and school. Granted the kids here have the whole week off from school. I think the teachers do this just to show parents how great they are because they put up with other peoples children [monsters] for 10 months out of the year. Personally I think they all deserve medals for doing this kind of work!
I've been suffering with headaches lately [mostly because of the painting of props] and missed last nights play practice. Although I still did spend time working on the props while I was supposed to have been resting. I've been designing and making set props for our play for three weeks straight now! With having to do the stage managers job as well...it's beginning to tell on me. This set has been one of the hardest I've had to do in a long time and I'm still running the changes in my mind..there are some change-ups that still have to be worked out. I know I don't have to do all of this myself but I'd rather do it myself, than take the time to explain to someone else of my crazy ideas...this way they get to see the final idea instead. Explaining takes longer than doing? So I guess I better keep the whining to myself!
Anyways....the sun is shining right now [a rarity in it's self] and I think I'll take a stroll to work where I will be immersed in stage managing duties...
Hopefully I'll have time for a nap later and then, maybe, I might make play practice tonight...?

TODAY IS FLAG DAY IN CANADA
If you knew that [without the help of your calendar] then you were smarter than me!
Here's some info for me and those who were not aware of these facts taken from the Wikapedia Library:
Flag Day in Canada is celebrated on February 15, commemorating the inauguration of the national flag of Canada by Governor General Georges Vanier on that date in 1965. The day is marked by flying the flag, occasional public ceremonies (especially in 2005, its 40th anniversary), and educational programs in schools.
The banner replaced the Canadian Red Ensign, which had been in use, if not officially, in one form or another since 1868. The new flag was proclaimed by Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada, on January 28, 1965, and first flew on Parliament Hill on February 15 of the same year.
Flag Day was instituted in 1996 by an Order-in-Council from Governor General Roméo LeBlanc, on the advice of his Prime Minister, Jean Chrétien, and is officially called National Flag of Canada Day. Outside of the federal government, however, this title is little used. The official name could be interpreted as suggesting there is a national flag for Canada Day. The somewhat awkward official name, with insertion of the qualifying words "of Canada," likely stems from the problem of using the word nation or national in Canada, where it is invoked by various groups such as aboriginal peoples, called First Nations, and by the province of Quebec, which is sometimes referred to as a nation (e.g., National Assembly of Quebec). At the official level, it was decided National Flag Day would not be acceptable. Despite this, National Flag Day, and especially Flag Day, are commonly used.
At the very first Flag Day ceremony in Hull, Quebec, Chrétien's speech was drowned out by a group of demonstrators upset by proposed cuts in the unemployment insurance legislation. Chrétien left the stage and while walking through the crowd he encountered Bill Clennett, one of the demonstrators who was shouting "Chrétien, au chômage" ("make Chrétien unemployed"). Chrétien grabbed Clennett by the neck and pushed him aside. Chrétien was criticized for this incident, which came to be dubbed the Shawinigan Handshake, after Chrétien's town of birth Shawinigan, Quebec.
Numerous Canadians feel that Flag Day should be declared a national statutory holiday, as there is a long period early in the year (between New Year's Day and Good Friday) without any holidays, except in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario (see Family Day). That suggestion grew louder as the flag celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2005. On Flag Day in 2007, New Democratic Party Member of Parliament Peggy Nash introduced a private member's bill to make Flag Day a national statutory holiday. Nash said her bill would have made Flag Day a federal holiday and it would have been up to the provinces to decide if they also wanted the statutory holiday.
I have put my flag in the window and almost wore my crazy flag hat...?
Blogging has made me become much smarter....?
