IT MUST A BEEN A PARTY....

Or it could have been, if the music hadn't been sooooo loud and not so great!




PoD and I attempted to have a good time out at the community dance last night but had to cut the evening short due to just those things and a few more...;}[right PoD...;}]




This was a fund raiser for the dance they are trying to host next year for our 100yr party and had a "trip to Mexico" as an featured bonus.


They called this dance "Pack Your Bags"?


The fun started at the door with the hosts [females] dressed as flight attendants all sporting "big hair" wigs...very funny! They had plastic beer cups filled with pebbles for weight and 3 flags [different countries] sprouting from them as their table centerpieces. There was beads and lei's wound around them. [PoD decorated herself later with the beads] Some hosted inflated lifesaver rings with the flags inside the hole...very nice. They had huge drawings of suitcases hanging on the wall. The decor really help to set the mood they were going for....well done!




This "suitcase dance" was a game thing too and I'm not crazy about doing dumb things in front of a lot of people but like to be a sport and get into the fun of it. They had these 20 suitcases lined up in front of the stage and one was supposed to hold the "Trip Voucher". The idea was to "win" these tags that would give you a chance on which bag it was.




First game was the "Vaseline and cotton ball game". This involves shoving your nose into gooey Vaseline and picking up an individual cotton ball with it. Then run across to the other table and deposit it in a bowl without wiping if off on the bowls edge. Lucky me got picked to do this one!




The only time I win something is something I am not going to like...that's how lucky I am




Didn't win the competition off course! Did get 7 out of the requested 10! I did better than most it seems.




Did I mention, that for the first hour I was sure I was going to be the oldest person there!




By the time the evening really got going I was about the 10th oldest...it was a very young crowd!




I should have clued into what the music was going to be like with a name like "Whiplash"....;{






Although when asked what style they played everyone said..."all types"  Guess what rock and roll, country and western sound like when put to heavy metal.......




Yup.....not good!


Different.......but not good...;{





Then they decided to bore us to death with an hour of some "ping-pong and beer" game. Wouldn't have been too bad to watch it with everyone else staying in their seats but that didn't happen. Not fun watching a crowd milling around who knows what. This drove PoD to spend more time outside with all the others that tried to escaped that boredom.




So-so music played LOUDLY, a beat you can't dance to and boring events taking too long...drove us to go home and be home BEFORE midnight!






Never have to worry about turning into a pumpkin around here...
